In session we talked about how we wanted to develop different experiences for ourselves and eachother through layering our reality and stories through sound and image. This was a quick, silly and simple exercise that was paired along with the creation of sound layers to have surreal and creative fun with making visible analogue layers in reality.
Why think through Multi-verses?
A multiverse is a hypothetical group of layers from many universes. Together, these layers can comprise everything that exists: the entirety of space, time, matter, energy, information, and the physical laws and constants that describe them.
The challenge was to simplify all of this into the existence of layers of drawings or creations drawn or manipulated through acetate. These drawn layers of fantasy scapes, patterns, surreal occurrences or anything else participants were able to draw became portable 'multiverses' that could be held up to any situation and physically alter the visual reality.
The layers created were meant to work with or help define the sounds-scapes participants recorded of their lockdown space for the podcast.
