The Sounds and Colours of Lockdown - Learning to Record

Before we could ever record a podcast we first had to get our heads around how to even record audio that we could work we. Together we devised a game of matching colours with sounds. You can try this at home too...

Step 1: Get you phone, make sure it can record (and you know where it goes), and it can take photos (and you know where they go).

Step 2: Take a photo of each colour of the rainbow, follow the ROY G BIV suggestion (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet). Don't worry if you can't get every colour.

Step 3: Now, record the sound(s) of that object. Example: My colouring pencil is violet, so I'll take a photo of it up close (macro), and then record the sounds I make when using it.

Step 4: Combine these images and audio into a multi-sensory collage of lockdown sounds.

You can find more of these from the Spaces Between Us participants in The Gallery!
